LET’S GET READY FOR SENIOR SCHOOL ODYSSEY

May 24th – 1st June

There are many times in a young person’s life when opportunities for growth are presented. The Adolescent Program’s 2021 Odyssey for Senior Students is one such opportunity. We will go on an adventurous nine-day road trip to Western Australia’s Pilbara Region…a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We will head north by bus, via an inland route, visiting Karalundi, Tom Price and Karijini. We will spend time investigating WA’s iron ore industry and exploring the beautiful ancient wonders of the Karijini gorges. Our return journey to Rockingham will include stop-offs in Coral Bay, Carnarvon, Kalbarri and Northampton, focusing upon tourism, telecommunications and agriculture. The highlight in each location will no doubt be the landscapes and environments that we visit. We will also take opportunities to learn about the traditional owners of the areas we visit and their connections to their country. It will be a school-on-the-road experience with an appropriate mix of educational and recreational activities.

What is Odyssey?

  • A trip away in the company of classmates and Advisors;
  • Moving beyond our comfort zones;
  • Presenting physical and psychological challenges;
  • Discovering more about ourselves; and
  • Developing interdependence as a community.
