I would like to provide you with a staffing update for the remainder of this term and also for the commencement of 2022.   We will be very sad to see Deb Lynass move to Ravensthorp District High School next year however she has promised me that she will be taking Montessori practices to her new class in the government sector.  We are very sad to see Julie Cowley leave the school after nine amazing years working as the Upper Primary EA and more recently as a key part of our administration team.  We wish Julie well with her new venture in the business community.  We will be sad to see Nat Wright finish up as the OSHC (Out of School Hours) coordinator at the Rockingham site however understand her need to focus more on her GymbaROO business.

With Kirsty taking maternity leave for 2022, I would like to inform families that Kirsty’s replacement will be Scarlett in the role of Program Coordinator for both the Maambakoort and Barna Marlak sub schools in the Adolescent Program.  On Kirsty’s return to her Program Coordinator role in Maambakoort, we will see Scarlett move to her permanent role as the Program Coordinator for the Barna Marlak sub school.  Congratulations Scarlett!  Whilst I know the Manyin’s will be very sad to lose you as their advisor I know the Barna Marlak’s will be delighted to have you as their Program Coordinator.

The Port Kennedy Primary School site is certainly progressing well with the stud walls installed, plumbing for toilets and kitchens complete and the floors being polished this week.  The playground equipment has been ordered and work will commence within the coming weeks.  Families moving to the Port Kennedy site will be invited for a site tour at 3.30pm one afternoon at the end of November, as the Site Manager has informed all work in the ceiling will be completed then and as such it would be safe then to be on site.  I know the children are very eager to see their new school classrooms.

I would like to thank our amazing Community Spirit crew and also all families who have supported fundraising through lunch orders and the recent book fair.  Please note all funds raised by Community Spirit go to financing future Community Spirit events.  If you have any ideas for future Community Spirit events and are not on the RMS Community Spirit face book page or are unable to attend the Community Spirit meetings, please email your ideas through to reception@rms.wa.edu.au.

We look forward to hearing the children perform at the Snack and Listen this Friday.  This should be a wonderful performance by so many children and I thank Julie for all her work with the guitar, ukulele and vocals groups over the term.  We certainly missed having you with us last term Julie.
