Upper Primary took a walk to visit Rockingham’s Castaway  Beach Sculpture Exhibit on the 28th November.

The day was filled with gorgeous sunshine and inspirational art sculptures from various Primary schools and Professional Artists. The day sparked many ideas on how the students could create their own Recyclable Art projects in class. Guest speaker Erin Osborne also gave her time to speak about the community initiative Rockingham Beach Cleans and her knowledge of single-use plastics and the ‘nurdle’ problem showing up on our local shores. You can find this group on social media under the name Rockingham Beach Cleans who gather fortnightly on a Sunday to clean local beaches from 9-10am. A special highlight was also seeing dolphins swimming along the shorelines during a mini beach clean the students participated in.
